Welcome - Friends of Buckland State Forest

FRIENDS OF BUCKLAND  STATE FOREST, MA (US)

Welcome to the Friends of Buckland State Forest (BSF)'s web site. In 2012 Richard and I (Susan) became friends of BFS. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts' Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) had invited those who care about state-owned lands to become involved in their protection. We, and friends of other forests, visit our site regularly and monitor for any changes or damages, either natural of manmade. We also develop ideas for involving people in the community in appreciating the forest by walking, photographing, painting or simply sitting in this wonderful place. Spring through fall, Friends of BFS meet at Mocha Maya's in Shelburne Falls periodically to socialize and discuss ideas. We hope others will want to visit the forest, care for it and join our friends group. Please call us at (802) 258-7845 for further information. We look forward to hearing from you.
